Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists
The bulletin is the well respected publication whose cover features a clock that tracks changes in the estimated number of minutes before the "midnight" of nuclear war. The magazine features reliable information on technical and policy aspects of nuclear weapons issues. It is available by subscription or at selected newsstands (none in Thurston County, but several in King County)

The CDI produces well informed critiques of US military policy, including nuclear weapons, military spending, etc. Its driving forces are retired military generals, admirals and other experts who believe our military is much bigger and more aggressive than necessary. The Ground Center is based next to the Trident nuclear submarine base in Kitsap County, Washington. LCP is an association of peace, environmental, and religious organizations building a grassroots movement to convert the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from classified nuclear research to peaceful civilian activity, including environmental clean-up of the nuclear weapons complex. LCP uses dialog, negotiation, letter-writing, petitions, public witness, and - when led by conscience and rooted in informed conviction - nonviolent civil disobedience.

NRDC conducts high quality work against nuclear weapons and waste in addition to its better-known work for the environment. Its website has good information about nukes.

Nonviolence Web is a tremendous, wide-ranging resource for information and articles about nonviolence and links to a wide variety of organizations and sources supporting nonviolence.
